8th October, 2014 - One Direction Fanfiction on Wattpad

Last time I said that I would try to update this diary everyday. But by the heading above, you can say I failed miserably.

Let us skip the talk about my laziness, and come back to the actual topic. One Direction Fandom.

Today I opened one of my favorite website on the internet, which is Wattpad. It is a free community where you can read or write your own stories. You can publish them online for others to read it. People can also comment and vote for your stories.

This website has got more than ten million stories by different writers from different places. So many books here are amazing and getting millions of reads. And in this place people not only post stories of various genres, but also fanfiction.

fan fiction
noun
noun: fanfiction
fiction written by a fan of, and featuring characters from, a particular TV series, film, etc.

On Wattpad, there are many fanfiction stories featuring so many different people from all your favorite shows and movies. It doesn't mean the characters have to be famous like they are in real lives. The story can have any situation or atmosphere. Characters can be from shows like The Vampire Diaries, or The Hunger Games. Or whether it might be your favourite band - One Direction.

A few One Direction fanfics are just amazing to read. Those include After (which has more than 1 Billion reads), Hidden, Psychotic and Phantom. I am mentioning them here because they are my favorites.

But there is this bad part of Wattpad.

The annoying One Direction fanfictions.

These are the ones in which you find all the One Direction members bullying this girl and somehow they all makeup to each other when the find out that the girl is the daughter of Simon Cowell. And in the end, the girl falls in love with ALL the members of the band. And even ALL the guys fall in love with this girl.

My faith in humanity is also lost by these other examples. There are these stories in which Harry rapes this girl all the time, and finally the girl falls in love with him. Seriously girl?! He is raping you, and you are falling in love with this guy?!

I don't even know why I am getting angry at the characters. I should be getting mad at the people who wrote it. I don't know why Directioners have these weird rape and bullying fantasies.

There is also this book in which Harry is the father of this girl but he rapes her all the damn time. He is around 40 in the book and the girl is just 18. Seriously?!?!?!

And not only the writer, the people who read such stories actually love it. These stories have more than a million read and thousands of votes. Comments go like -

OMG I LOVE THIS

HARRY IS SO SEXY

IT IS GETTING HOT IN HERE

OMG OMG OMG THIS IS AWESOME

I WANT THIS TO HAPPEN TO M-

Enough girls, enough.

If you are someone who likes such stories, you need a therapist.

This might not be a diary entry, but this is my rant about the thing which has been nagging me for days.

4th October, 2014 - First Diary Entry

Never in my whole life I thought that I would ever write a diary. That too, on a blogging website. Writing a diary for me is like a responsible task. You have to do it everyday before you go to sleep, or before you...whatever. But still, if you have been writing a journal or a diary for years, I would like to congratulate you on this achievement.

I don't know why I started writing this e-diary. Maybe because I want to share my thoughts. And it is much easier to type than to write thousand words on a paper and give your hand a sprain.

Now about me, I am a 16 years old girl living in India. I am not going to give out the name of the place where I live for my privacy reasons. I am a Science student studying in 11th grade. I have a goal of becoming a doctor. And if possible, a surgeon.

If you are living in India, and if you have such goals in your life, your parents won't stop supporting you. But their support soon turns into pressure which in turn makes your life into a living hell.

We all know India is a hugely populated country. So, there are also so many youngsters trying out for college. The best colleges have only a few seats (in the medical field) and the competition is very high. So of course, all you have to do is work really hard. In 11th and 12th grade, you need to forget the outside world and indulge yourself totally into academics.

Ha! But here I am, typing all this instead of practicing my physics questions.

I have a younger brother, who is currently in 4th grade. My father is an engineer and my mom is a homemaker. I actually don't have any friends. You can say I am a type of person who would be joking around with everyone and the one who is making everyone laugh, but actually does not have a true friend. It makes me feel a little sad sometime but I guess I am okay with it.

Today, my day was like typical everyday. See how many times I used 'day' in a sentence.

We had a holiday on account of Dussherra. I woke up late in the morning around 11 but got an amazing breakfast served by my mom. Afterwards, I studied. And studied. Around 2, I watched this movie called Taal. Honestly, I have never watched any old Bollywood romance movies before. But damn, this picture was so funny.

The movie was showing how the guy and the girl were falling in love. But seriously, it was so horribly funny. Being an Indian I will say it, the romance in Bollywood movies can never take place in real life.

No guy secretly goes around taking pictures of a girl in a market. And if he does, he is a serial killer or something. And no guys take a picture of a girl when he is hanging by a rope as a life support on the edge of a mountain and introduces himself to the girl when he is actually about to die.

Seriously, romance is fake. Where can we find realism?

These things are just so...so mind blowing. Like literally. For a minute I felt that if I continued watching this movie for any more minute, by brain will automatically explode due to the crappy cliches of that film. I don't even know if it is a word.

OK...enough about the movie. It isn't night right now, but I hope I have some good plans to go outside. Let us hope...for that.
